बहुत समय पहले की कहानी (हाथी और चींटी की कहानी हिंदी में) है। किसी दूर जंगल में एक हाथी रहता था। वह हाथी काफी घमंडी था। वह जंगल के सभी जानवरो को काफी परेशान करता था। वह हाथी जंगल के राजा शेर को भी परेशान किया करता था।

वह बिना ही किसी काम के पेड़ो को उखाड़ दिया करता था। अपनी ताकत को दिखाने के लिए वह जंगल के दूसरे जानवरो पर अत्यचार करता था। जो जानवरो उसकी सलामी नहीं करता था उसका घर बर्बाद कर देता था।

एक बार यह घमंडी हाथी जंगल के पास वाले तालाब पर गया। उस तालाब के किनारे कुछ चीटिया अपना खाना एकता कर रही थी। हाथी से अपना पर पटकते हुए चीटियों से कहा, तुम लोग यहाँ क्या कर रही हो। इस पर एक चींटी ने कहा, हम अपना खाना एकता कर रहे है। ताकि वर्षा के मौसम में हम इस खाने को खा सके।

इस पर हाथी को मजा सुझा और उसने नदी से पानी अपनी नाक में भरा और तेज गति के साथ उन छोटी चीटियों के ऊपर और उनके बिल में डाल दिया। इस तरह से उन छोटी चीटियों का सारा मेहनत और भोजन ख़राब हो गया। यह देखकर हाथी जोर-जोर से हसने लगा। इस पर चीटियों को बहुत ही ज्यादा गुस्सा आ गया।

उन्होंने इस हाथी की सबक सीखने को सोचा। इसके बाद काफी चींटी हाथी की और बढ़ने लगी। यह देखकर हाथी से जोर से कहा, तुम लोग मेरा क्या कर सकती हो। चींटी हाथी के पास आई और उसके पैर से ऊपर चढ़ना शुरू कर दिया। कुछ चींटी हाथी के कान में घुस गई तो कुछ चींटी हाथी के नाक में। इसके बाद वह चींटी काटना शुरू कर दी।

अब हाथी का हाल बेहाल हो गया। वह काफी दर्द होने लगा। और वह जोर-जोर से रोने लगा। हाथी इतने तेज से रो रहा था की जंगल के दूसरे जानवर भी उसके पास आ खड़े हुए। हाथी सबसे माफ़ी मांग रहा था। और चींटी से भी माफ़ी मांग रहा था।

अब हाथी से सबक को अच्छे से सिख लिए था। इसलिए चींटी हाथी के कान और नाक से बाहर आ गई। इसके बाद हाथी ने जंगल के किसी भी जानवर को परेशान नहीं किया।

हत्तीला हे पाहून आनंद झाला आणि त्याने आपल्या नाकातोंडात नदीचे पाणी भरले आणि मोठ्या वेगाने ते लहान मुंग्यांवर आणि त्यांच्या बिलामध्ये ओतले. अशाप्रकारे त्या चिमुकल्या मुंग्यांची सर्व मेहनत आणि अन्न वाया गेले. ते पाहून हत्ती जोरजोरात हसायला लागला. यावर मुंग्यांना खूप राग आला.

आता हत्तीची अवस्था दयनीय झाली आहे. त्याला खूप वेदना होऊ लागल्या. आणि तो जोरजोरात रडू लागला. हत्ती इतक्या जोरात ओरडत होता की जंगलातील इतर प्राणीही त्याच्याकडे आले. हत्ती सर्वांची माफी मागत होता. आणि मुंगीची माफीही मागत होता.

आता तो हत्तीकडून चांगलाच धडा शिकला होता. त्यामुळे हत्तीच्या कानातून आणि नाकातून मुंगी बाहेर आली. यानंतर हत्तीने जंगलातील कोणत्याही प्राण्याला त्रास दिला नाही.
